Bass Guitar Fretting Hand Technique ~ Nail The Note Every Time!
#BASSNATION this week’s lesson is a quick tip on how exactly to press the string on your bass when you are playing individual notes. This is a small tip, but it can really help to clean up the accuracy of your lines and grooves when you are practicing by yourself or playing with a band.

Thanks, Daric. Not only beginners do this; I made this mistake as I tried to speed up. I spent a lot of metronome time tearing down what took me years to incorrectly build. It’s best to get this right, the first time. We don’t have time to do it right, but we have time to go back and do it again? PS: A fretless helped me a lot with note sounding. I hated it when I first bought it, but love it now!
Good point man! Yes a fretless will help tremendously! Your intonation has to be spot on or else you’ll be a half step or even a whole step off in either direction!
Hi Daric—Please share your muting techniques. Clean, clear, and precise are undermined when strings adjacent to a note being played are vibrating. Can you share your methods for overcoming this problem? Marvin
Sure thing Marvin, there will be a full course on muting/palm muting
Useful advice. Thank You.
