In this lesson, we break down a powerful intro lick played by Alan “Snoop” Evans on a Fred Hammond record. The line immediately caught my attention because of how smoothly it outlines the dominant harmony using bebop language.

Is this “Awesome God”??? I used to work for a group of radio stations, and one of them was a gospel station. I first heard this Fred Hammond jam when I was walking by the studio one day, and I was hooked. I’ve been wanting this one for the longest time. YES!!!
