Speed & Precision Exercise
#BASSNATION In this week’s lesson I’ll be going over a quick exercise with you that is just simply going up an extended Mixolydian scale and then I’ve created a chromatic pattern on the way back down. I simply move this exercise back and forth from A to G and repeat it over and over. This is a great way to really increase your dexterity, but remember…as I always say, you want to make sure your notes are coming out clean, clear, and precise! Be sure to take this at your own pace and develop speed over time!

Hey D!! Can I go up the scale to the 2octave point then descend? Thinking of a creative way to add on what you have us. Love it Bro!!
Absolutely! That would be awesome. Only thing is you would have to start pretty low in order to execute it up the the fretboard easier
Got it!! You know, with me grinding in your classes I’ve increased my accuracy and theory which has opened my creativity when I’m recording-creating! Appreciate you Bro! And your Brother! Lolol that guy! 🔥🔥
Man! That’s what it’s all about. So dope! Thanks for that! Keep pushing my man.
Thanks for the site. My playing has gotten stale and I’m hoping his will take me to another level
Awesome to have you man! Let’s break you out of that place. Let’s get to work! Don’t hesitate to ask anything! Also check out the private Facebook group for more insight as well
I will look it up on Facebook. I’m looking at to steppin up my playing. I can play but I don’t always know what to do with the things I can do.
Love this exercise!
It’s awesome isn’t it??? Fingers start to burn after a while
would you please do it once or twice very slow in the camara i would benefit from that as i really want to add this to my warmup time. thank you .I am a new subscriber and really have been enjoying your program. Thomas
I’m currently working on this. I’m working at being consistent; sometimes it feels that II can go just a bit faster, but I’m mindful that when it gets sloppy, I need to slow down. I’d say its working.
Hello Thomas. Just checking; are you aware of the video playback speed feature, in the settings at the lower right corner of the vid? You can slow this down as low as half of the normal playback speed.
Thank You , I wasn’t aware of that and it helps this is an exercise i would really like to do well.
Hey Thomas, Just remember to take your time and pace yourself. Also keep in mind that the precision should override the speed🤟🏾
Thank you for sharing this with us Deric I will
G’Day Daric, Could this pattern be applied to a 5 string starting with the top B string? I’m loving your site and hopefully it will increase my motivation to play more!!
Hey! Thanks so much I’m glad it’s helpful to you! And yes you’re absolutely correct. This exercise can also be applied to the B string on a 5 string as well 👌🏾
