Speed Series – Right Hand Single Note Exercise
This is the first part of our “Speed Series”. For the month of January we are focusing solely on being able to play faster and cleaner. This exercise may seem easy at first but please don’t underestimate it. As always, take it nice and slow and be prepared to put some work in this month… this is just the beginning!

simple exercise, really difficult to do… thanks!
if anyone else is looking for a metronome that changers speed, you can find one here

Thanks Lenny! That’s also a great one, thanks for the suggestion 🤟🏾
Hi Daric! I feel stuck on 115 bpm. I’ve been practicing in this tempo for some weeks now but don’t really feel improvement. Any recommendations? ✌️
If you move up to 120bpm what would happen???? Do you struggle with endurance or the precision?
Definitly precision. The fingers don’t keep up with the supposed rhythm.
That’s perfectly ok. 115 is actually a pretty quick speed. It will take some time to get over the hump. Also making sure your technique is correct may be something that may be hindering you. But overall don’t feel bad. How long have you been playing?
Great. This is something that I need.
Good Stuff Daric, I tend to fall off the rails around 115 bpm.
Hey Daric, sorry for the late reply. I’ve been playing for 15 months now. Besides, something seems to be wrong with the “reply”-funtion. I can’t use it any more all of a sudden. Wehn I click it, nothing happens. BR, Lenny
Hey Lenny No problem man. That’s weird about the button. Seems to be working fine. Might need to refresh page or browser
I’m doing the exercise twice on each string. One time starting with index, next time starting with middle. Each string feels different and the lower/heavier strings require starting at slower tempos, but still extremely valuable to practice. I’m starting on each string in the same place, so D str. is F maj. G str is Bb maj. E str is G maj. anmd B str is D maj. I’m also using cycling through all 4 fingers of L. hand 2x for each scale, so each finger gets blood flow and doesn’t get overworked by using one finger for each note of the scale.
