“The Tarantula” – Chromatic Dexterity – Guitar Influenced Exercise
In this lesson, we explore a challenging finger dexterity exercise inspired by a guitar exercise. The focus is on building finger independence and control, essential for bass players at all levels. The exercise involves chromatic movements across strings while keeping unused fingers stationary to improve hand coordination. We break it down step by step, starting with a specific fingering pattern and gradually working through different finger combinations. Although it may not sound melodic, this exercise is highly effective for developing strength and precision. Stick with it, and you’ll see improvements in your dexterity over time!

Very tough. This will take some time to get my stationary fingers from moving.
This feels impossible. I don’t know if I really need this!!
Crazy right! I’m still trying to get it clean. But I really think it’s more so to improve your posture and positioning in your hand and arm. Especially if you have a tendency to slant your fretting hand a lot
