If you play a Bd7 wouldn’t that be out of key if you have already played a B7?
Technically yes but some of the other chords in this progression aren’t diatonic to the key either. And sometime they won’t always be in the key.This specific chord you’re referring to is a passing chord. And we’ll talk more about that. The most important thing to focus on is knowing exactly what these chord symbols mean
