Walking Gospel Bass Made Easy: Unlock the Power of Walking Bass Lines!”
In this video, we walk through the process of playing walking gospel bass lines in the key of A-flat. It might seem tricky at first, but once we break things down and understand the chord structure, it becomes much easier to manage. We’re working with a chord progression that goes: 4 → sharp 4 → 5 → 6 → 2 → 5 → 1, and we’ll use triads, arpeggios, and diminished scales to navigate through the bass line.

Hello Mr Bennett, I’m a new student of yours. I’m 76 years young I started my musical education late in life but I’ve started. My first instrument and course work was with the Classical Guitar. I learned a lot of theory and finger style playing. Which brought me to the bass . Walking bass just caught my attention. I want to be a gospel bass player and I want you to be my teacher. Show me the road map and I will put the work in. This is one the main goals on my life journey.
Hello! So awesome to have you! You seem to be very motivated in your goals and journey, and I love that. Just know that gospel can be very tricky because it’s infused with so many different genres of music. So just take your time and go slow. Walking Gospel Bass is a great start. Will be adding more gospel specific lessons in the very near future but please feel free to take a peek at the ones we have here that are available. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or are struggling with anything in your bass playing. Again, awesome to have you!
