Do I have to move my thumb as I progress down the strings or can I just rest it on the pickup?
I would suggest that you shift down the strings as you love but you can definitely try both ways to see what feels better. But the reason I suggest that is because your thumb acts as a mute to help muffle the strings that aren’t being played. Try both ways and let me know what you discover 👍🏾
