Love it, Good work Deric.
can you show this on a 5 string.
sure, it will be the same exact positioning and fingering though. What exactly would you like to see differently on a 5 string bass?
Thanks coach!! training camp has started!!lol omg!!
oh yea!!! 🤟🏾
nice Bro
This is fantastic, especially with the grouping in the tab/notation. It makes it easier to visualize.
I’m itching to learn the Jaco groove you did for the demonstration. Thx 🙏
Awesome! Glad it could help! I’ll put that on the list to break down for you! 😎
Hey Daric! Nice groove. Could you explain how you translate the exercise to the groove…? Like, how does your fretting hand shift between positions and how do you find the next note after shifting? (The question is a general one: how do you extend scale patterns / continue them from different starting points and how do you keep orientation?) I hope the questions was somehow clear… ✌️
(referring to the groove starting at 5:20)
watching the video further I understood 🙌
lol it usually happens that way. But I don’t mind going over it again if you need more clarity, just say the word🫡🤟🏾
Hey Lenny! Thanks for your question. I believe I understand what you mean as far as not losing your place on the fretboard. Let me know if I’m correct on that but if not, I’ll still do a video response explaining a little bit more in depth. Especially the position and placement on a specific phrase/ exercise on the fretboard to be able to move it to different spot without getting lost. Stay tuned.
Hey Daric, yes, the “moving the phrase to a different spot on the fretboard without getting lost” was what I meant. However, watching the video further and trying to play it like you did I recognized the patterns… Made me understand something that has been bothering me. Thanks!
no problem at all! trust me I understand, thats one thing that always tripped me up earlier in my journey
