    1. When I speak about sharp/flat within the modes I’m always referring to the number of the note in the scale. Example, lydian mode has a (sharp 4/ raised 4) in relation to the major (Ionian) scale. So the notes aren’t technically sharp or flat, just where they are in relation to the original mode/scale (major scale).
