I like the tone of using this over the key of E, where it maintains the “spanish” feel, but you opened my eyes to how different it changes the feel of the sound when you play it over the key of C.
Wonderful! Isn’t it cool to use these different modes. Just by changing a couple notes in the scale you can develop a completely different feel/ lsound
Bro Daric those Chords you played on the E phryigan improv what are the names ? They sound real nice
Hey, thanks! Those were just variations of chord tones inside of the Phrygian scale. There were some minor 6 chords, Minor 7 flat9 chords… along with some inversions. I’ll be breaking that don’t even more when we talk about upper extensions of chords for bass
Hi Daric,
I guess that Funda Arar-Arapsaçı(Turkish song) is kinda phyrgian mode?Isn’t it?
Extra song –> Artık sevmeyeceğim (Turkish song)
hey! I’m not sure of the song, would have to look that up and get back to you
Hello Daric and blessed evening. The Phrygian mode is truly amazing cause it can go from the Spanish sound with the b2 and minor 6th but also can be used in a pedal tone with the low E droning and going back and forth from the E & F giving it a metal sound. haha Anyway a perfect song that is derived from C MAJ with the Aeolian mode being used on the bass and guitar is Enrique Iglesias “Bailamos” great example of what your talking about here with the modes and a great song to solo on with the bass.
awesome observation. Love that you noticed that!
It’s sounds like Egyptian music . Like Mummy music 🎼 or even Indian music
