Palm Muting Madness! Technique and style tips
Palm muting can be a great way to achieve a “different” sound on the bass. There’s usually one way that it’s taught but I like to think outside of the box. In This lesson I show you guys how I personally implement this technique along with some useful tips on how to properly execute the palm mute!

Cool lesson! Thanks Daric.
This is so incredible! I was just thinking about palm muting and came across this. Like most things, I just gotta put the work in. So slick!
Hi! Again, really cool video. Thank you for making it. There is a subject that’s touched in this video I’d be more interested in: when playing chords, arpeggios and when palm muting it comes in handy to use index and middle in addition to the thumb. I’ve recently started to try to incorporate also the ring finger into plucking. It feels much less natural than index and middle. Can you recommend any exercises to practice that? Ps: what a nice dog! 🙂

Also, to add two more things. I’m playing a 5 string and also, maybe it’s not worth the effort because a second pluck with the thumb on the next string may do the job just as well… not sure about it.
Thanks for the response! Got the point.
