SLAP COURSE – Part 2 – Slapping and picking transition
#BASSNATION in this week’s lesson I’ll be covering how to transition between a slap technique and regular finger picking or plucking technique. If you love to slap, it’s super important you can transition back to your finger style playing and keep your line clean, clear and precise!

Daric,
So glad I found you about a year ago. My full name is Michael Bennett, so we might be related. Love your teaching style. Merry Christmas. Mike
Hi Deric – Another Bennett just joined your site! I’m Scott Bennett.
I never learned to slap, so going through this course. Is there a good setting for your amp to get the “popping” sound or is it all in the wrist & thumb?
Hey Scott! Welcome! I suggest setting the amp flat and control the tone from your bass. What do you play?
Thanks – I have a couple of Fender J-Bass’s and recently bought a new Duesenberg Drop Kick Murphy!
Hi Daric, a question about your Squier Jaguar bass : is it long scale, medium ? (30″ ? 32″ ? 34″ ?) . Thanks !
Hey! I believe that it’s a 34in scale. I’ve had it for about 12 years. I can double check once I get back to the studio 👌🏾
